Solid Wood Refinished Teal Antique Dresser
Solid wood antique dresser completely refinished from top to bottom. After a thorough cleaning, the dresser was painted in Fusion Mineral Paint in Homestead Blue (my FAVORITE), which is a lovely teal that is more blue in some lights. The top was sanded down to the bare wood, which had a gorgeous striated grain. It was then lightly washed with Fusion Mineral Paint in Algonquin and sealed with multiple layers of polycrylic, which give it a nice satin shine . The dresser has bun feet that are on casters, making it super easy to move around.
While I normally replace the hardware on pieces, these pulls were WAY TOO COOL not to use. They are a solid wood knob with a wood peg on the back that screws into the dresser. They have been updated to a lovely vintage gold.
The chest has a stunning coordinating floral print on it. All drawers are lined in a coordinating teal, green and white wallpaper. Finally, the chest was finished with multiple coats of polycrylic sealant for long-term durability.
Dimensions are 42"w x 19"d x 36"h. This a wide piece that can hold quite a bit. In particular, the bottom drawer is HUGE. The bottom front is actually a fake front and part of that drawer. This dresser could be used in a bedroom, of course, but I can equally see it in an entryway or living room/dining room. It is quite the statement piece. It’s also the perfect height to also serve as a buffet or sideboard. This is one of my all time favorite creations. Hope it will also be one of yours!
If you are potentially interested in this with either a coordinating dresser top mirror, dresser or end table(s)/nightstand, let me know, as I have a few very similar pieces I was about to start.
