Solid Wood Refinished Teal Antique Dresser
Tiger oak antique dresser completely refinished from top to bottom. My understanding is that this dresser had been in the family I got it from for more than 100 years. It is solid wood, through and through.
The top was sanded down to the original wood and then sealed. I love love love the grain of the top, which is now smooth as silk,. The body was painted in the lovely Fusion Mineral Paint Homestead Blue, a gorgeous blueish teal color. The fronts of the drawers were a tiger oak veneer that had some texture to it. Rather than deciding to repair it all, I left some as is to stay true to its authenticity, which you can see in some of the pics. Personally, I love how this looks.
All hardware was upgraded to bronze cup pulls. The drawers were lined in a lovely coordinating wallpaper. They all open and close without a problem, which is unusual for a dresser of this age. Personally, my favorite parts of this piece are the legs, columns on the sides and rounded corners on the tops. It's structurally as sound as they come - this piece will last for another 100 years.
Dimensions are 41"w x 21.5"d x 32"h for most of it, but at its widest and deepest points (including the columns), it is 42.5"w x 22"d. This heavy piece that can hold quite a bit. I personally love the size. It’s not huge, but it’s also not at all small. This dresser could be used in a bedroom, of course, but I see it even more in an entryway or family room/living room/dining room.
If you would like this dresser but would prefer a floral or stenciled design be added to the front/sides, that can be done for an additional $50.
